Free Poetry Office Hours
Office hours are currently on hiatus until later Spring 2024.
Drop by virtually on Zoom for a free informal conversation about poetry with me (learn more about me here) on Wednesdays at noon Eastern (New York time). The idea for this came out of the weekly conversations in our Art of the Poetic Line course, where participants shared comments on poems, book recommendations and other resources, and thoughts about poetry and the poetic process. It was a friendly group and, in the absence of a new class ready to go at the time, I thought this would be a good way to see if we might continue the momentum and connection.
So come by ready to chat about or share a favorite poem, an interesting article you read, or your own work. I recommend having a link that people can digest in five minutes or less ready to go, if there’s something specific you want to share. Or just come to listen and meet others with similar interests. I always have something poetry-related that I’m thinking about that I can talk about by default. The time is set to a half-hour for now, but if there’s interest, I’ll extend that to an hour.
Each date is limited to ten people to best maintain a small, friendly group while allowing for no-shows. If you sign up but can’t attend, cancelling by replying to the sign-up confirmation email or contacting me is appreciated. You can see if anyone else is signed up for a date (# tickets remaining) once you select that date in the registration process, before you complete checkout.
If you’d like to sign up for multiple dates, rather than add each one-by-one, you can also email me at hello@ahthesea.com to let me know. The CAPTCHA on TicketTailor can be a bit fussy. If you get a system error the first time, I’ve found that it tends to work on the second try.
